Kinara’s Fashion: Imani’s Leopard Print
My last illo featured Ujima and Imani dressed up Egyptian style. Unfortunately Imani’s lovely outfit was overshadowed by Ujima and his pharonic antics. So I designed a brand new gown just so Imani can strut her stuff. I hope you like it. Not done yet. I think there’s one more outfit in Imani’s closet waiting for the runway.
The Prince of Egypt? He Wish!
Imani is amused: “Ujima got a bit carried away in his pharaoh’s costume. ‘Come on to the party he said. It’ll be fun.’ Now he’s trying to lord it over folks like some third rate King Tut.”
Ujima is not amused: “Just to be clear, I’m not trying to be King Tut. I’m Ramses II, the Great. He was a great builder who created more monuments than any pharaoh in history, and a personal hero of mine”
A bit of holiday fun with Ujima as Ramses II and Imani as Nefertiti. Read More …

Frederick Douglass as a Young Man, Circa 1852
My rendition of Frederick Douglass. Essentially the MLK of his day, sitting with presidents and speaking truth to power. A belated birthday gift to one of the greats. This is the first time I’ve used my special kinky hair brushes in PhotoShop. Mr. Douglass’ mane pretty much defines him and I’m happy with the results. Special thanks to Red Eye Cat for the facial Read More …
Ninja Pets: Ninja Cat vs Evil Dog
I was just mentioning recently how I had a backlog of ideas and concepts without enough time to put them together. So my 6 yr old decided to run one more at me. No it’s not a real book or comic or anything, I just thought I’d slap something together for her. I’m pleased to announce that when I showed it to her she gave me Read More …
Trick! or Treat?
Kuji’s ready to Party! Black Panther Party: 50 years 1966–2016 Background posters by Emory Douglas This image is a play off the iconic photo of Huey Newton from back in their heyday. I’ve had this idea in my head for quite some time and had slowly collected props and such to use in it. Somehow it took until the end of the month for me to Read More …
